Vino Barbera Cortese Rosato Piemonte DOC DOCG Nocciole

Cascina Corsico

Benvenuti! Welcome!

We are a small farm in the vineyard area of Monferrato and on our beautiful hillside we cultivate the most widely-planted grape in Piedmont: Barbera.

The vineyard has been family-owned since 2008 and until recently we only produced wine for ourselves. With the expansion in 2017 we now produce, also for sale, table wines such as the selected Corsico Rosso, DOC wines such as Paladino nero (Barbera del Monferrato DOC) and Vinum Rosæ (rose wine, Piemonte DOC Rosato) and soon DOCG wines.

With the planting of the hazelnut grove, we also offer the Piedmontese hazelnut variety tonda gentile del Piemonte.

In 2021, we also harvested white ‘cortese’ grapes in large quantities for the first time and produced il Paladin cortese, with a fantastic bouquet and an incredible alcohol content for a white wine (13.50%), made possible by the warm, low rainfall autumn.

Tradition and modernity

We use traditional techniques with modern methods.

Grandfather Enrico learnt the art of pruning and vineyard management from an early age and has passed it on to his family.

Environmental sustainability

Ours is a small, sustainable company.

We use new technologies to reduce gas and electricity consumption, we have solar panels and we mainly use our own wood for heating.

Small story

It all started with an old vineyard and an old house.

The story of our small farm began in 2008 when we bought an old house on top of a hill with a vineyard and uncultivated land.

We make wine for ourselves and for our friends.

And it was our friends who encouraged us to make the vineyard bigger and to sell our wine.

Our wine is produced in small quantities exclusively from our own grapes from our vineyard in Valenza. This is why, unlike the big producers, it changes flavour a little each year, depending on how much sun, how much rain, humidity etc. there has been.

ABV 13,5%

‘Wine is to the soul what water is to the body.’

‘Wine, especially in Italy, is the poetry of the earth.’

‘I like everything old; old friends, old times, old manners, old books, old wines.’

We make wine for ourselves and drink it every day.

In addition to the Corsico Rosso we drink wine from years past, aged in 2-litre bottles in our dark cellar. Unfortunately it is not possible to sell this wine, but if you drop by, we will let you taste it !
